A bit more pleasant conditions were on show out at Clover Leigh on Saturday afternoon then were experienced the day before when member contested the first round of this year?s Summer Comp. which took the form of a Single Stableford event.

Coming back to his great form of late we saw Graeme Bell come in with a fine 43 points to his credit with Peter Bolton next best in the runner?s up position with 38 points.

In the ladies side of the draw it was Tania Baldwin taking out the prize with 38 points from Marie Bagnall with 36 points as the runner?s up.

NTP?s going to Peter Bolton for the men on the sixteenth with 4.1 metres and to Tania for the ladies on the seventeenth hole with a slightly more 6.25 metres.

There were two gobbles for the round with Mick with one on the fifth and the other one going to Peter Freck on the fifteenth hole.

Surprisingly they were to only ones to record birdies on the day when they scored them on the same holes as their gobbles.

The final of this year?s club Match-Play competition was also contested between the Peter?s, Freck and Bolton, when it was Peter Bolton who took-out the win when it went down to the seventeenth hole with a two and one final result.

This coming Saturday at 12 noon the second round of the Summer Comp. will be taking place with the event for the day to be decided just prior to hit-off.

And finally a reminder as of the first Saturday in December, the hit-off time for the weekly competition will be at 8 a.m. which will go right through to the end of summer in an attempt to beat heat, unless advised otherwise.
