As we move closer to the summer months, playing conditions out at Clover Leigh continued to warm up when members contested a Par Event on Saturday afternoon on an ever improving playing strip.

Winning with a plus four result was Mick who carried on from his form of last week when he edged the other in form player of late, Graeme Bell, who came in with a plus three result to be in the runner?s up position.

NTP going to Peter Bolton on the fifth hole with a close 1.5 metres.

Gobbles were a plenty when Marie Bagnall had one on the tenth and Peter Bolton with one on the fourteenth and two going to Mick on the first and fifteenth holes respectively.

Two birdies were to be found on the cards when Peter Bolton had his on the fifth and Freck scoring his on the final eightieth Betty Freck Memorial Birdie hole.

This coming Saturday at 12 noon, the November Monthly Medal Stroke event will be contested.

The following weekend on both Saturday and Sunday the Clover Leigh Golf Club?s 2014 Stroke and Handicap Championships will be contested.

Starting 12 p.m. on Saturday afternoon the first round will be held in conjunction with the 2014 Medals of Medals final.

So have a look on the notice board to see if you have qualified for this part of the day?s events.

Following golf at around 6 p.m. there will be BYO BBQ for those who wish to stay on.

And on Sunday an earlier start of 9 a.m. when the second round of Championships will be contested.

It is expected that the course should be at its best, but a good drop of rain leading up to the weekend would make it just that little bit better for all who compete.
