Fine weather which had south easterly nip to the air was on show out at Clover Leigh on Saturday afternoon when members contested a Single Stableford event. Continuing on from his form of the last few weeks we saw Graeme Bell win with a point score of 34 with a bunched field following when Nico came to fore to take out the runner?s up position with 33 points. NTP going to Peter Frecklington on the fifth hole with a 6.25 metres shot of the cup. Gobbles to Reg Frecklington on the tenth where he recorded one, and to Peter Freck with two on the ninth and tenth holes respectively. Peter also recorded the only birdies to found on the cards when he scored them on the sixth, ninth and tenth holes. It was Peter?s day in some ways as the birdie he had on the ninth was on the Betty Freck memorial birdie hole and he received one more ball to go with the ones he won earlier in the week when he won the mid week competition at Young on Wednesday. This coming Saturday at 12 p.m. the September Monthly Medal Stroke event will be contested.
