Unfavourable weather conditions that came in mid way through the round as members contested their July Monthly Medal Stroke event deterred all but only a few from completing their game on Saturday afternoon out at Clover Leigh.

This month?s men?s medal winner who was a clear leader from the rest of the field was Nico with nett 68.

In the women?s side of the draw we saw Tania Baldwin with nett 76 take out the ladies trophy.

The NTP going to George Gerrard on the seventh hole, with 3.14 metres.

Tania had the only gobbles to found on the card when she scored these on the ninth and fifteenth holes respectively.

There were no birdies recorded on the cards that were returned.

Maybe the reason Tania and Nico continued with their rounds was because they were playing their club Match-Play game and decided to continue on. The match final result went to Nico with a five and four win.

On Sunday morning four members travelled to West Wyalong to contest the district final of the NSW Men?s Fourball Championships in what was one of the best golfing days that has being experienced for some time.

Although their results did not bother the leading pairs, we saw Peter Freck and George record 39 points and Peter Bolton and Mick record 41 points.

The winning score for the day was 45 points when a team from Cootamundra, Tony O?dwyer and John Dawe took out the event.

On behalf of the South Wet DGA, I would like to congratulate them both on their win and wish them all the best for when they contest the State Final in October at the Bonville Golf Resort just south Coffs Harbour.

Peter Freck came away with the NTP trophy in the day?s event with what was a very close shot.

This Saturday at 12 noon the event of the day will be decided just before hit-off.

A date to add to your dairy is Saturday, August 2, when the club with the Freck Boys will be honouring the memory of their mum, Betty Frecklington, who passed away last year.

Play for the day will take the form of a Three Person Draw for Partner?s Multiplier event. More on this special day in next weeks report.
