Fine weather was on show out at Clover Leigh on Saturday afternoon when members contested a Single Stableford event.

Winning with a score of 41 points was Peter Frecklington from next best George Gerrard who took out the runner?s up position from a close count-back to Mick when both recorded 38 points a piece.

NTP going to Peter Freck on the fifth hole with a close 1.53 metres.

Gobbles to Peter Freck on the fourth, Reg Freck on the eighth and one as well too Graeme Bell on the eighteenth.

It was Peter Freck?s day when he recorded five birdies in all on the fourth, fifth, eleventh, thirteenth and seventeenth holes respectively.

There was two club match-play games contested, when Peter Bolton had a win over Graeme Bell three and two, with the other been between Peter Freck and Mick, when Peter won with a two and one result.

On Sunday morning members travelled to a well grassed Binalong Golf Club to contest the fourth round of the Small Clubs Pennants and Stableford competition.

The pennants side of the day saw Clover Leigh up against Canowindra. Clover Leigh had three wins to two loses result with Peter Freck winning over Cory Knight, three up, Mick going down to Karl Kemper five and six, Peter Bolton with a loss to Matt Devlin, one down, George winning over Charles Lawrence, eight and six, and Graeme winning five and three over Helen Kemper.

Bigga played Boorowa in the other match up of the day with Boorowa winning with a four wins and one loss result.

Progress in the pennants with one round remaining sees Boorowa out in front with 27 points, Binalong next with 17 points, Clover Leigh 16, Bigga 14 and Canowindra with 6 points.

The Stableford event for day saw only two clubs record points towards to the over all tally when the home club, Binalong scored 36 points and Boorowa scoring 24.

Progress scores in the Stableford sees Boorowa way out in front with 100 points, Binalong next with 66, Bigga with 49, Canowindra with 24 and running at the tail with seven points is Clover Leigh.

When the final round is held at Clover Leigh on Sunday, July 6, it is hope the home ground advantage will see Clover Leigh?s seven points turn into a much more respectful total.

This coming Saturday at 12 noon the event for the day will be announced just prior tee time.

The following Saturday, July 5, the club will be honouring for its twelfth time, ?Vera?s Day,? a Three Person Select Partners Ambrose event at 12 noon.

Just prior to hit-off, a sausage sizzle for a small charge will be on offer.

The evening will see a BYO BBQ for those wishing to stay on.

Please don?t forget to remember the final round at Clover Leigh of the Small Clubs Pennants and Stableford competition the following day, Sunday, July 6.

Members are requested to bring a plate for both the afternoon teas that will be held after golf on both Saturday and Sunday?s events for all to enjoy.
