Fine conditions greeted members out at Clover Leigh on Saturday afternoon when the club?s qualifying round of the NSW Fourball Stableford Championships were held in conjunction with a Single Stableford event. With the first three placing going on too the South West District final that will be at the West Wyalong Golf Club on Sunday, July 13. We saw the winning pairing of Phil Windsor and Graeme Bell come in with a fine 46 points to lead from next best Peter Bolton and Mick with 42 points and making up the last group it was the team of George Gerrard and Peter Frecklington with 41 points. The best Single Stableford scores going to Graeme with 38 point and Mick with 37 points in the runner?s up position. The NTP going to Peter Freck on the seventeenth with a distant 7.95 metres. Gobbles to Phil, Peter Bolton and Carolyn Windsor with one a piece on the fifth, eleventh and fourteenth holes respectively. Only one birdie was to be found on the cards when Peter Freck recorded it on the eleventh hole. After golf this year?s Club Match-Play draw was conducted with the first round seeing some very challenging match up?s to be contested. This coming Saturday, at 12 noon the event for the round is yet to be decided. If you wish to get your Match-Play game out of the road, may be this weekend could be the best opportunity to do so. It is planned to start a mid-week competition on Tuesday mornings with a 9 a.m. hit-off.
