Due to the rain that fell over the previous days and just before the advertised hit-off time, which almost caused the cancellation of play for the day, the weather cleared in time to let members contest their April Monthly Medal Stroke event out at Clover Leigh on Saturday afternoon.

Winning the men?s medal this month was George Gerrard with nett 68 to just edge Mick to runners up position with nett 69.

In the women?s side of the draw we saw Tania Baldwin win with nett 69 from next best Marie Bagnall with nett 85. NTP?s going to George for the men on the sixteenth with a close 1.46 metres and to Tania for the ladies on the eighth hole with a slightly more 2.5 metres.

There were two gobbles recorded on the cards when Reg had his on the fourth and Marie also with one on the fifth. No birdies were to be found on the cards.

This coming Saturday, the event for the day will be decided just prior to hit-off at 12 noon.

And on Sunday morning, April 13, at 10 a.m. an event that has been decided is a Three Men Ambrose Draw for Partner?s event, when Richard from the Calare Tavern at Bendick Murrell will be sponsoring the day.

For the cost of $20.00 per player, you will get golf, BBQ lunch and a Lucky entry prize.

There will also be many prizes up for grabs ranging from longest drives, NTP?s on all par three holes, plus many other trophies will be on offer.

The following weekend will be Easter, and starting on Good Friday afternoon, a Nine Hole event will hit-off at 3 p.m., and for those who wish to stay on, at around 6 p.m., the traditional BYO BBQ Fish Dinner will be the go.

Fried chips at small charge also will be available.

On Easter Saturday, at 12 noon, depending on numbers, a Team?s Event with a draw for partner?s will be contested.

On Friday evening and Saturday afternoon during golf, Easter Raffles will be running, so bring that little bit extra to help cover costs.
