Members contested a par event on Saturday at Clover Leigh. While the grass has been greener on the other side of the fence recently, the course received some welcome rain during the week and the fairways now have their own green tinge. Follow up rain has been ordered for next week. That should get the grass going great guns.

Winning with a smoking score of plus one was Peter Bolton, with Peter Freck runner up all square. While not all the other players were feeling subpar, their cards seemed to indicate they were. Nico distinguished himself with a birdie on the ninth, winning a ball on the Betty Freck memorial hole.

The other birdie of the day went to Tania Gardiner who holed a five metre putt on the par three seventh, with the first shot on that hole winning her the nearest the pin for the day.

Next week will be a stroke round for the March monthly medal at 8 a.m.
