Welcoming in the New Year, members out at Clover Leigh contested their January, Monthly Medal Stroke event on Saturday morning in breezy but cooler conditions then has been experienced of late.

Winning the men's side of the draw we saw George Gerrard with a 65 nett result from next best, Peter Bolton with nett 67 to be in the runner's up position. There was no women's Monthly Medal event contested. NTP going to Mick on the seventh hole with 1.96 metres. ?Mick also had the only gobble for the round on the sixth. And George recorded the only birdie for day on the eighth.

As it has been a few weeks since the last report, there was one event that needed to be completed, when in the final of the 2013 club Match-Play competition we saw the father and son combination of Reg and Peter Frecklington fight it out to be crowned club Match-Play champion. Congratulations going Reg, when he won with a good six and five result.?? ?

This Saturday with the earlier hit-off time of 8am, which will continue til the end of summer, a Single Stableford event will be contested. ?A reminder, it is advised to take it somewhat slower coming up Karoopa Lane, with the much drier weather, there is a lot more wildlife taking the opportunity of what there is of a green pick on the side of the road. ?
